    Yea!! This is easier to understand, and includes more veggies than the other one that is floating around. Boy did I plant stuff at the wrong time last year. Guess I know why it didn't do well. :-) THANKS!

    The official tomato planting day for California's Central Valley, the inland portions of the Bay Area and the low foothills (below 1500 feet) is April 28. For areas above 1500 feet: Mother's Day.
    (Editor's note: although late April and early May are ideal for planting tomatoes and peppers here, Mr. Hoffman continues to shamelessly plug his birthday.)

    I planted heirloom tomatoe seeds the end of Jan. and they have grown faster than I thought they would. I have transplanted five if them into gallon containers and now they're all about 16 in. tall and look beautiful. I know it's too early to put them in the ground but should I put them on the porch or a covered area? Help!
